My district is definitely considered ahead of the game when it comes to technology and innovation when it comes to trending apps and programs. I tend to rely on that when I evaluate current trends and tools for any educational setting. It also helps that we are a VILS campus because we have 1:1 iPads and are about to have a completed VILS technology lab complete with multiple 3D printers, robotics, high-end smart boards and so many other gadgets that I don't even know the names of.
The other advantage of the district that I work in and something that I rely on is that we have DLCs on each campus, or digital learning coaches, that are there to help implement and provide ideas and instruction for new apps and educational tools that technology provides that we may not otherwise learn about.
I am a huge fan of all things Google when it comes to documents and presentations because it is super easy to collaborate with and I am very knowledgeable about Google. I am an Apple certified educator but I honestly don't use many of the Apple products because I don't use my school-issued iPad that much. (shh don't tell) We use a lot of apps like Flipgrid, Nearpod, Padlet, and so many more.
